I've been carrying messenger style bags since I was in college in the late 90s and have had many of varying quality. This is far and away the best I've ever owned. The combination of quality, style and function are unmatched. I have used this bag daily for 2.5 years and it looks better today than it did when my wife gave it to me. The patina of the veg tanned leather(I figure it must be veg tanned leather because chromium tanned does not age this beautifully) gets darker and honeyed as time goes on. The waxed canvas keeps it reasonably waterproof and cleans easily. I have not had to rewax yet and don't see that being an issue for a few years.
Bottom line: This is an heirloom quality piece that is punching wayyyy above its price. I've had much more expensive bags that aren't half as good as this one. If you're on the fence, get it.

I am bit of a tote snob, with a large collection that includes totes made by other well regarded makers. This one is right up there with them. It holds both my large laptop, my ipad, and a pouch of cords. The striped lining is delightful, and the contrast allows one to easily find things. Very happy with this acquisition.

I ordered this knowing there would be a substantial shipping delay, so kind of put it out of my mind after placing the order. What a terrific surprise when it arrived. I have been searching for the perfect every day bag, that combined style with usefulness and enough room for my typical daily commute. Best I've found. I just ordered the lineman duffle and previously ordered the waxed canvas cooler. All are getting consistent use. Very pleased.

This tote bag is absolutely exquisite. Over the course of my life I have had the opportunity to own any number of name brand bags and I can honestly say that I know now that journey is over. I finally found THE BAG. Beautiful leather, attention to detail, and the waxed canvas is a really subtle color (richer that tan) that blends perfectly with the leather. And of course, there are the people at Mission that make the experience much more personal by way of their communications.

Looks great feels substantial. Real leather. Very happy with it. Unfortunately we live in the USA and I wish it was made of Kevlar.
I have nothing but praise for this tote. It is beautiful inside and outside, with such attention to detail. The highest craftsmanship is on display here. One of the reviews I read said it's a bit heavy, but I haven't found it so. I have an old waxed canvas tote bag by another maker, which is much heavier.
This is a classic that will last a life time.

Beautifully made bag - although I would say that I this plain side wayyy better than the other one w the slanted zippers. I plan to wear it w/o showing the zipper side so won’t be a big deal but would be nice without them. Kinda think the zippers cheapen the look….

This is a beautiful bag! I have been looking for the perfect laptop bag for years. I love this one and it fits my new 16” MacBook Pro M1 Max laptop perfectly. I originally was planning to just store my laptop in its own sleeve and store it in the main compartment as I didn’t think it was going to fit in the laptop part. But it fits perfect.
I’m quite pleased with this tote. I’m traveling with my laptop, headset, large water bottle, etc., etc. plenty of room! I’m enjoying everything about it. Super happy!
Wonderful quality and great functionality in a tote bag that works well for day to day use.
Pockets were well thought out and the bag looks great. I can carry all the important information that I need for student lectures (iPad Pro and connection cables) and meetings as well as important documents.
Would also be a great travel bag.
I prefer over backpack due to easier access.
My first Murse has great function and shoulder strap is designed to keep bag closed and it also has a strong magnet built in the top to aid closure.
Would highly recommend.
The quality of the leather is amazing. I love that the liner is a light color so you can find things, and it does not have useless pockets. It’s also lightweight which I love because I throw everything in my bags.

Hello, I just ordered a shell bag, and I am hoping the bag does not have a smell like the
the wax protection coating. I have had bags made by other company's and the smell penetrates all my clothes , and lingers on the bags forever! Fingers crossed...Seems like a weird question I know😳
Hello Renee! Good news, our waxed canvas has no "coating" smell. It is a wax blend that is melted, then is pressed into the cotton fibers via a generations-old process using a series of rollers under carefully controlled temperature and pressure. It doesn't have an odor liked other synthetic wax spray processes. You're good!
