Have had this bag for over a year now & love when I get the chance to use it. Stylish and robust bag for a weekend trip. Craftsmanship and materials are both of high quality. The leather is thick, stitching is nice and consistent, and the brass rivets are placed appropriately to ensure confidence this bag can handle whatever you throw at it. The leather handles attached by brass rings ensure the handles aren’t in the way when you’re accessing the bag. The other brass hardware like the zipper, clips for the shoulder strap, buttons on the handles, and the feet on the bottom all work nicely. Only thing I’m on the fence about would be whether this bag could benefit from an internal zip pocket, although without one adds to the simple, reliable charm this bag to has.

Exactly what I was looking for! Durable, stylish, just enough fine trim to make it look classy but not shoved in your face. Plus the lifetime guarantee on top of it all?! I’m all in! Probably going to get the larger size soon for longer trips.
First, it's clear this bag is well made. Care was clearly taken in its assembly. For me, the materials came up wanting. the pebbled finish on the leather was not my thing. The canvas though stout I'm sure felt thin and the webbing shoulder strap was not a plus. Overall this bag just did not feel like $265 dollars to me. It's a full $100 less than the equivalent Filson bag making it attractive but for me, I'd buy the Filson first.

I really appreciate you taking the time to give us your feedback. I getcha re: the higher grain leather vs. the smooth leather used by Filson. We lean toward a true full-grain leather that has the grain and other natural variations still visible. Neither is better / worse, just a different approach.
Our 18 oz waxed canvas is very durable and the same weight as Filson's tin cloth; in fact, we've shared a common supplier for the fabric.
We did choose to use a web strap with a leather shoulder pad for Field Duffle to help keep the cost down a bit on this item; it's about the only place we spared some expense. Filson's leather strap is indeed very nice, totally agree.

100% of our products are handcrafted exclusively in North America, all in our wholly-owned shops in Texas & León, Mexico. We don't specifically "identify" or sell any certain product as made in the USA or Mexico. In fact, we very thoughtfully and intentionally source the very best materials from all over the world. This gives us the flexibility to make a product in which shop that's best at that time. We'll also repair products in both the USA and MX depending on what needs to be done. While we surely understand that some consumers may demand "Made in US", we also don't want to send a message that one geographic location is better than another re: handcrafting our leather goods.
