I have been searching for a bag that is both properly sized and aesthetically appropriate for a mid-career digital professional to use as an everyday carry solution. My objective was to accommodate a typical technology-oriented ensemble—laptop, tablet, headphones, hydration vessel, and other essentials—without compromise or risk to the delicate electronic components. The search has reached its end.
If you seek adventure and wish you were spelunking in the 1930’s instead of riding the elevator to your desk job then this is the bag for you. The feel, the style, this bag has it and you’ll know it the minute you get your hands on one. Rugged? Two days in trying to exit to the 10th floor while the utility cart guy was just riding along, blunt force trauma to the front of the bag, unscathed!
This bag can easily carry a MBP, iPad, headphones, water bottle, lunch, mints, cords/chargers, light windbreaker and keep it tucked in, tight and protected. There is an inside compartment for smaller items such as keys or cards or something thin-ish. Also, rumor is that these are the same zippers used to maintain tectonic equilibrium around the globe.

I'd never heard of Mission Merchantile before but I needed a new briefcase. I entered my requirements into GPT Chat and the recommendation was the Waxed cotton briefcase from Mission Merchantile. I love this bag. I just got back from a business trip to Europe and it held and organizes my essentials really well. It is stylish and durable. It has enough room for a sweater or a windbreaker. It is great in the plane. I'm usually the guy who takes up extra room in the overhead because my additional bag is just a little too big. This bag slides under the seat in front and I no longer have guilt about being "that guy." I liked it so much that I couldn't resist the all leather version in Roosevelt leather.
I am a long time user of Mission Merchantile products, especially their Campaign Waxed Canvas duffle and most recently the Campaign Waxed Canvas Wheeled Carry-on Duffle Bag, both great products. I have used my Tumi computer briefcase for over 20 years and with the retirement of my old laptop and the purchase of my new larger laptop I needed a new computer briefcase. I did not hesitate ordering the Campaign Waxed Canvas Briefcase. My new laptop fits perfectly in the special interior sleeve and there are numerous slots for pens, business cards and a calculator. There is also a larger interior space for files, books and power cords. The quality construction of the briefcase is a given based on all the other products I’ve ordered. This is a formal bag but can get sporty depending on your clothes. I call it the moustachö for its side flap. Very spacious and extremely durable.

Handsome bag
Bought a Campaign Waxed Briefcase after my last bag blew out. In the interior, it can hold a 15 in laptop on one side, on the other it has a pencil case type pouch that can hold chargers, pens, etc. comfortably. In addition to that, I've been able to cram a 400 page case file so plenty of room, but not a monster of a briefcase. You can tell the craftsmanship is just different (better) than bags you could buy off Amazon/mall by touching it. They don't cut corners. Just a really great bag, I couldn't recommend it more.
