I wanted it to go over my shoulder and under my arm - without having to hoist my shoulder up to keep it from sliding. It does not slide. The included pouch is great for helping to organize stuff rather than having it float around in the abyss. I think my search has ended - this is the most expensive purse I’ve ever bought and I plan to use it forever more (I’m 76) so it might not be as long as someone else !
