I bought the Ellington backpack for my wife’s birthday. It replaces a 5 year old department store bag that she absolutely loved, but had seen better days. I searched relentlessly to find her a suitable replacement. Mission accomplished with this bag!😉 It is a thing of beauty and she absolutely loves it. It really does combine so many practical features and has just a tinge of feminine flair for her. Her only concern is its initial stiffness making it slightly challenging to put over her shoulders. Gorgeous leather and extremely well-made. The design makes this beautiful bag easy to carry and the pockets are easily accessible. It is designed to carry anything and everything you may need whether it is a trip to the grocery store, an overnight stay, or a day at school. I love that I have my “stuff” right at my fingertips now and no longer have to go on a search and destroy mission just to find my glasses, keys, or a pencil at the bottom of an overstuffed and poorly designed bag. It is designed to carry anything and everything you may need whether it is a trip to the grocery store, an overnight stay, or a day at school. I love that I have my “stuff” right at my fingertips now and no longer have to go on a search and destroy mission just to find my glasses, keys, or a pencil at the bottom of an overstuffed and poorly designed bag. I LOVE this backpack and it it so beautiful and classy looking, I can take it anywhere. I have received so many compliments about it and on top of everything else, it smells so good.

Beautiful product, great leather and a thoughtful design in almost all respects. I do think that 4-6 bass feet on the bottom of the back would be a useful (optional) addtion to reduce wear and tear and improve the usable lifetime -- probably to the third generation!

I bought the Ellington backpack for my wife’s birthday. It replaces a 5 year old department store bag that she absolutely loved, but had seen better days. I searched relentlessly to find her a suitable replacement. Mission accomplished with this bag!😉 It is a thing of beauty and she absolutely loves it. It really does combine so many practical features and has just a tinge of feminine flair for her. Her only concern is its initial stiffness making it slightly challenging to put over her shoulders. We expect the leather to soften up over time, facilitating this task. Thank you Mission Mercantile! So glad to have found you.
Hey David, thanks so much for your very complimentary & kind review! For sure (as with all high quality full grain leathers), our leathers will become more supple over time. With regular use, her Ellington Backpack will definitely soften. If she wants to speed up the process a bit, she may periodically place it in a window to soak up some of the sun's warmth.
